Christmas Eve Box — The Night Before Set

The Christmas Eve Box is a Canadian-made keepsake gift box built for the night before Christmas — a hand-poured maple candle, an Ottawa-made ceramic mug, cozy chunky wool socks, a wooden Santa keepsake ornament, and a build-it-together log cabin ornament kit, packed in the signature navy Gitano box with a handwritten card. One box to open on December 24th, filled with everything a family needs to slow the night down.

Why we made the Christmas Eve Box

The best part of Christmas was never the morning. It was the night before — pyjamas on too early, one movie, one more chapter, the tree lights left on while everyone pretends they're not too excited to sleep. Somewhere along the way that quiet evening got buried under wrapping paper and to-do lists.

We built the Night Before Set to give that evening back. Here in Toronto we kept asking the same question every December — what do you actually hand someone to say slow down, it's Christmas Eve, the rest can wait? So we curated it: warm socks, a mug that's yours for years, a candle that makes the room smell like a sugar bush, a keepsake ornament for the tree, and a little cabin to build together while the kettle boils. Every piece is made in Canada, by real makers we can name. It's not a stocking stuffer. It's the start of a tradition.

What's inside

• Hintonburg Ceramic Mug — designed and made in Ottawa, Ontario by Maker House Co., the little workshop-and-storefront in Hintonburg that has championed Canadian makers for over a decade. A sturdy, keep-it-forever mug for the hot chocolate or tea that Christmas Eve calls for.
• Maple Syrup Tin Candle — hand-poured in Montreal, Quebec by Seracon Eco-Culture, a maker that pairs natural soy wax with the sweet, unmistakable smell of Canadian maple syrup. It turns the whole room into Christmas Eve in a cabin.
• Chunky Wool Work Socks (Navy) — knit in Ottawa, Ontario by North Standard Trading Post. Thick, warm, and built to last — the socks you change into the second the boots come off.
• Wooden Time Capsule Ornament — Santa — made in Canada by Fine Wood Ornaments. A heirloom-quality wooden Santa that opens to tuck away a tiny note, a photo, or a wish — a keepsake that earns its spot on the tree year after year.
• Christmas Tree Log Cabin Ornament — DIY Kit — crafted in Fort Langley, British Columbia by Log Cabin Toys. The Christmas Eve activity: build a little wooden cabin together at the table, then hang it on the tree. The best kind of screen-free evening.

Make it personal

Add your message in the order note at checkout and we'll handwrite it on a Gitano card tucked inside the box — a name, an inside joke, or just "see you Christmas morning." It's the first thing they'll read when they lift the lid.
